Quilted Maple Veneer
Western Bigleaf Maple from the Pacific coastal temperate rainforest of North America produce world class figured veneer of the rarest beauty. We are proud to offer the finest quilted maple veneer available, as well as quilted maple with pin burl.
Veneer Grades
For the sake of simplicity, we have categorized the veneer into four grades: A through D. Grade A flitches being more densely figured as well as having greater depth and clarity of figure. In addition, each grade is further classified as either white or mixed color (e.g. AW= A grade, white color; AM= A grade, mixed color).
While some prefer to see the contrast of wood tones, those intending to dye the veneers vibrant colors often prefer white grades.
All flitches are sequential, meaning each sheet is nearly identical to the preceding and succeeding sheet in a flitch.
Below are pictures of different grade fitches, intended to impart the characteristics of the different grades, and the differences between them.
