Quilted Maple Veneer
Western Bigleaf Maple from the Pacific coastal temperate rainforest of North America produce world class figured veneer of the rarest beauty. We are proud to offer the finest quilted maple veneer available, as well as quilted maple with pin burl.
Black Walnut
Black Walnut (Juglans nigra) is one of the few species we carry that is not native to the Northwest. It was introduced by settlers hundreds of years ago, posing no threat to the ecosystems in which it flourishes. The iron-rich soil and abundant rains of the Willamette Valley produce unrivaled rich, dark chocolate tones of black walnut.
Pacific Madrone
Pacific Madrone (Arbutus menziesii), also known as madrona and arbutus, is a unique Northwestern hardwood prized for its rich red, sunset, and cream tones. With a Janka rating of 1460, madrone is one of the hardest pacific northwest natives. A wood of exceptional longevity, strength, and machinability, it is highly prized for its for the qualities and tones it lends to joinery and fine furniture.
Bigleaf Maple
Bigleaf Maple (Acer macrophyllum) is an important tree in the Pacific Northwest, serving the essential functions of stabilizing the soils in wet and mountainous regions while cooling the waterways they commonly grow along. The figured wood produced by these giants is sought after throughout the world by luthiers and fine furniture builders alike. The depth of curl, and in particular quilt, that can be found in some of these specimens confounds the eye and sparks the imagination. Our figured stock includes curl, quilt, and pin-burl in varying dimensions.
